Delta Café Espresso — Portuguese Whole Bean Coffee

Delta Café Espresso is a 100% Arabica blend roasted in Portugal, combining beans from Central America and Africa into a single, versatile coffee. This is the espresso of choice in Portuguese cafés, delivering a rich, full-bodied shot with distinctive crema. Whether you're brewing at home or seeking authentic Portuguese café culture in a bag, Delta brings decades of expertise to your cup.

Why You'll Love This

100% Pure Arabica — No fillers, no blends with robusta. Just quality beans from two continents roasted to perfection in Portugal.

Rich Crema & Full Body — Specially roasted for espresso machines, but versatile enough for automatic brewers, French press, or Moka pots.

🇵🇹 Authentic Portuguese Café Culture — The same coffee served in Lisbon's traditional cafés as a "bica" (single shot). Part of daily Portuguese life since 1961.

🌍 Central American & African Blend — A balanced combination that delivers both smoothness and complexity, no bitterness.

🛢️ Whole Bean Freshness — Grind just before brewing for maximum aroma and flavor. 1kg bag provides weeks of espresso.

How to Use / Preparation

Espresso Machine (Recommended)

  1. Grind beans finely just before use (20-30 seconds in a burr grinder).
  2. Tamp grounds evenly into the portafilter (approximately 18-20g for a double shot).
  3. Brew for 25-30 seconds until you see a rich, golden-brown crema.
  4. Serve immediately as a single shot ("um café" or "bica") or double shot.

Fully Automatic Coffee Machine

  1. Fill the bean hopper with whole Delta beans.
  2. Set grind size to fine or espresso mode.
  3. Select single or double shot and press brew.
  4. Machine handles grinding and brewing automatically.

French Press (Less Concentrated)

  1. Grind beans coarser than espresso (10-15 seconds).
  2. Add approximately 1 tablespoon per 4 oz of water.
  3. Pour hot water (195-205°F) and steep for 4 minutes.
  4. Press slowly and pour.

Moka Pot (Stovetop Espresso)

  1. Grind beans slightly finer than drip coffee.
  2. Fill lower chamber with water just below the safety valve.
  3. Add finely ground coffee to the basket (do not tamp).
  4. Screw upper chamber on tightly.
  5. Heat over medium until you hear a gentle hiss (approximately 5-7 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and serve.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Delta Espresso as a classic shot, or use it as the foundation for milk-based drinks like cappuccino or latte. In Portugal, "café com leite" (espresso with steamed milk) is a breakfast staple—pair with Mimosa Leite UHT Meio Gordo for an authentic experience. Accompany with Portuguese pastries like pastel de nata, or enjoy Cuétara Maria Biscuits or Nazinha Biscoito for a traditional afternoon break. Delta espresso is best enjoyed throughout the day, just as it is in Portuguese cafés.
